By tracking my results over the last 4 weeks I have concluded that the best email conversions come from those Safelists that provide a Credit Based Mailer.
I estimate I have sent out 200,000 emails to Safelists during 4 weeks. I say estimate, because during the first 2 weeks I did not keep an accurate record. My OSI site has received 1,030 hits… 951 came from Safelists where I used their Credit Based Mailer.
Ok… so 4 weeks is not a very big sample, but my conclusion is supported by the team at Traffic Hoopla. Over a period of more than four years, having tested hundred of Safelists, their statistics show that at least 95% of Safelists are totally ineffective. By that, they say this means they NEVER have a single response to their ads, EVER.
By the way, this is what Traffic Hoopla say about Traffic Blasters:
Some people will use submitters to email thousands of Safelists with the idea that if you send out enough ads, someone is bound to respond.
It sounds like a good idea, but what is the major drawback? The trouble with this concept is that enormous resources are needed to handle all the incoming mail. You'd receive thousands and thousands of email messages a day - mostly from worthless Safelists. Our testing has revealed that 95% of Safelists on submitters are also ineffective. "Ineffective" means that they NEVER have a response from their membership EVER.
Commencing week 5, I am concentrating on Safelists that provide a Credit Based Mailer.
Meanwhile, this week I have been opening a lot of emails so as to earn credits. Boy oh boy is that a mixed bunch, or what?
You Only Get One Opportunity to Make a First Impression
From emails with only one line of copy to emails containing hundreds of different links, it’s no wonder so many people fail on the internet. And some of you, my esteemed readers, are amongst them.
Ray has put together some really good emails, with effective copy and subject lines. All you have to do is copy and paste.
Well actually that’s not quite correct.
That should read… Copy and paste from the web site into a text editor (Notepad, for example). Check the formatting of paragraphs, carriage returns etc. Then copy that over to Lyris to check on the deliverability. Make any amendments. Then copy that into the mailer at the Safelist, checking all the time that it is still correctly formatted.
Then might someone be inspired to read your message.
Several times during the week I have spotted emails whose copy came straight off the Accelerator Plan.
Where single lines were converted into double lines
Where carriage returns
Were converted in to double returns
And the chances of anyone ever reading the message dwindled into
Insignificance (do you know what I mean?)…
If You Don’t Know Where You Are Going… Any Road Will Get You There.
One of my readers has asked me to expand a little on Advertisement Tracking. Membership of NPN will get you a multi-ad tracker, but for our purposes I don’t find it sufficiently flexible.
I have used TrackThatAd for some while. It’s free to use and if you include the tracking bar in your ad you won’t get the annoying little fly-in ad which would otherwise appear before your own advertisement. Better still, upgrade… membership brings a host benefits, features and too many things to mention here.
Simply put, to create a campaign you enter the web site that you want to track, e.g. your referral link at OSI:
http://osi.homebiztruth.com?5588
Give your campaign a title… "One Step 4 Income".
Click the button to enter the URL and on the next screen you will get a list of 10 different Ad Tracking Codes. Here is one of mine for the above:
http://2-b.us/?i=130454/
If you click on that link it will take you to my OSI web page
Now, when you go to a Safelist, use the Ad Tracking Code, not your OSI referral link. BUT… modify the Ad Tracking Code to identify each Safelist.
For Example, if I’m mailing from Adsolutionline I add AdSol to the end of the Ad Tracking Code, so that it reads:
http://2-b.us/?i=130454/AdSol
If I’m mailing at Tutorials4Newbies, I add Tutorials, so that it reads:
http://2-b.us/?i=130454/Tutorials
Now when I go to my Statistics page at TrackThatAdd I find that since yesterday morning (when I reset the counter), I’ve had 29 hits from Adsolutionline and 12 hits from Tutorials4Newbies.
I can even find out the referring source, IP Address, Date and Time the ad was read. The statistics are kept by TrackThatAd for 2 weeks. However, I reset the counter each week before I start my week's mailing.
Results… (at last)
My email this week had the following subject line (or some variation):-
Am I Wasting My Time (and Yours)?
And the body text was:
Am I Wasting My Time (and Yours)
As I sincerely doubt that any of my emails have ever been read.
Now why is that?
Is it because no-one wants to spend any more money on programmes that just don't deliver? Or even if it is you that is the problem, you still don't want keep losing money.
The face of the internet is changing, and there are many programmes out there that only require a small membership fee and no work, or, as in this case, the only investment is a small amount of time for really great returns and very little work.
Try this for a breath of fresh air:

It could be what you are looking for... that is if you read the email!
Stay well,
Kevin Phoenix
P.S. One Deep Breath... now hold it and go:
http://2-b.us/?i=130454/AdSol
(If it looks familiar, yes... it’s the one I sent out last week)
OSI Hits: 350 = 0.7% conversion (yes another increase)
The Best Performers were:
AdSolutionline 54 Hits = 5.65% conversion (wow!)
GlobalSafelist 29 Hits = 1.2% conversion
AdTactics 27 Hits = 1.15% conversion
List Bandit Hits: 0 (!)
WebBizInsider Hits: 25 = 6.51% conversion (this TE continues to produce excellent results).
Overall
Another satisfying week. I now have 19 in my down line, of which 4 members have joined NPN. So after 1 month with OSI, I’m in profit... and I've not been able to make that statement very often.
In Closing
I read this earlier in the week. It is an excerpt from the inaugural speech given by Nelson Mandela in 1994.
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?”
Actually, who are you NOT to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does NOT serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We were born to manifest the glory that is within us. And as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Till next week... bon continuation!
